IN THE MOOD: 1970s Mediterranean Jetsetter

Setting the stage…

As I tackle the accessorizing of our coffee table, I’m keeping these types of images in the back of my mind. I’ve got my Slim Aaron’s book, a Moroccan box, a silver snakeskin box, a piece of white coral, and a gold-rimmed vintage Gucci ashtray to start. Do you do this too, as in, try to keep a visual standard in mind, i.e. “What would [insert directional figure here] do?” Currently, I’ve got “Pierre Cardin circa 1970 in St. Tropez” on the brain…

Or am I completely off my yacht-anchored-off-the-coast-of-Capri? Nonetheless, thank you for bearing with me — sometimes I need to use this blog to work out an idea for myself!

...xoxo

  2. I love that you put so much thought and effort into every single blog post. I am obsessed with Pierre Cardin, Curtis Jere, Ello, Sarreid, Paul Evans, David Hicks, Milo Baughman, and all other designers who were doing a glam thing in the 70’s. These pics of gorgeous people living it up are so inspirational for the type of life I want to live now. Thanks for a beautiful post!

  3. Oh those photos are getting me so pumped. I’ll be on the lookout for something fab from there that could fit into your decor. I have yet to try laying out my decor pieces on a file to see what fits, but perhaps after i finally acquire adobe this year I will! Do you know any other programs/free website where you can put boards together?

  4. Your inspiration is fab. I think the best way to decorate to put your head into your inspiration. We are kind of like method actors in that way 😉

  5. I’m not sure exactly why but this site is loading incredibly slow for me. Is anyone else having this issue or is it a issue on my end? I’ll
check back later and see if the problem still exists.

  6. Its like you learn my thoughts! You seem to understand so
much about this, like you wrote the guide in it or
something. I believe that you just can do with a few p.c.
to power the message home a little bit, however instead
of that, that is magnificent blog. A fantastic read. I will definitely be back.
