Please welcome Rachel of Little Bits of Lovely!

Well. I really am quite speechless when it comes to Rachel’s blog, Little Bits of Lovely. I don’t think I even need to say much because the below just exemplifies it for me. I will say that I’ve been considering going black/white in my office, and these boards confirmed it for me! Goosebumps people, goosebumps…

Hi there Small Shop Studio readers! It’s Rachel here from Little Bits of Lovely + I’m honoured to be here today guest posting on Erika’s fabulous blog about the versatility of one of my favourite colour palettes: Black + White.

What I love about this palette is that depending on how you style it you can end up with two completely different looks, each exuding it’s own unique personality.

Three different styles I’m particularly drawn to are Glamorous, Modern Eclectic + Minimalistic…

{glam.or.ous}

A glamourous space is always charmingly or fascinatingly attractive, especially in a mysterious or magical way. (above)

{mod.ern ec·lec·tic}

A style that is not limited to any one idea or preconception; it is rather, distinctively comprised of elements from various sources.

{min·i·mal·istic}

An approach defined by only decorating with a bare minimum of what is necessary.

Which of these most closely aligns with your personal style? I like to think I’m a combination of all three, but I do tend to lean more towards glamorous!

Thank you for having me today Erika!

Desiring an online space to explore well-rounded, inspired content in all topics she loves most, Erika created 'The E List' (formerly the Small Shop blog) in 2010. When not enjoying an “occasional" glass of wine and wanderlusting for even warmer climates, Erika can be found sharing laughs with friends and family, and trying her very best to keep up with her 6-year old daughter (yet failing miserably).

  1. Black and white is right up there on my list of favorite color combinations. It’s so versatile and elegant! Love this inspiration.

  2. The first two are really my faves, although I have done the minimalist look in the past. It can get a little cold, and the glam/eclectic spaces really warm it up with the fur and mirror and leather textures. Great post!

  3. How wonderful to find Rachel over here, I’ve been following her blog for a long time! I have been following yours for some time now but I think I haven’t commented before. I really love coming here for inspiration. I always love black and white in other people’s homes but I need more colours in my life 😉

    Have a wonderful weekend!
