SPRING 2013 RTW The New Black

Alberta Ferretti

Even though we should be looking ahead to lighter and brighter shades of spring, I couldn’t help but notice the vast amount of black on the runways in the Spring 2013 Ready-to-Wear collections. Reinterpreted in delicate sheers and refreshing constructions, the new black for Spring seems to be all about showing off a woman’s subtle sexiness through material and form…

  1. Oooh… Erika I’m in love every single one of those dresses…..I have been shopping for a dress for a wedding I have at the end of the month and have not found anything! I would die for any of these!

  2. Oooh….love them all! I especially love the pantsuits although I think I am too short to pull off that look!
The One by Contrarian long dress is my favorite.

  3. I walked away from wearing so much black because I thought it was cliché to be a New Yorker and always wear black and had a desire to try color (which for a plus size girl is scary and I needed to be daring.) As I’ve gotten older I find myself gravitating right back to black and neutrals overall. Loving it, so Spring’s collections are right up my alley.

  4. Love Ackerman sheer top with rock’n pant and mesh heel- HOT! BCBG amazing and affordable. Breathtaking and my where am I going so I can wear this beauty is the last Elie Saab. Wearing black for Spring warrants the sheer and lace to keep the non color-color light.
