GLOBES GOWNS 2013 My Top 5 Picks

I thoroughly enjoyed the Golden Globes last night!  Tina Fey and Amy Poehler killed it, and I felt in general that all the leading ladies stole the show.

On to dresses…these are my top choices of the night! Agree? Disagree?

Marion Cotillard radiates in persimmon. Simple, effective. Love the modern twist with that half belt.

Hair, jewelry, makeup…pretty perfection in this fringey Chanel number.

If I had somewhere to wear this dress, I’d buy it!  The plunging neckline and back is tempered with a subtle beaded detail. Stunning!

Miss Swift is already getting slack for this dress (too old?), but I’m sorry, the back silhouette says it all. Winning!

Kate Hudson was drop-dead gorgeous, period, as is this neckline ornamentation. Go MOMS, seriously.

Lastly, I LOVED Amy Poehler’s dress in the opening monologue! I cannot find any info on it though. The plunging cranberry number…anyone??

Other than that, I’m not one to trash talk, and honestly, I really didn’t think there were many that truly missed the mark. I thought everyone looked stunning, even if I’m not the biggest fan of the deep slit or half & half dress. There was definitely an overall color scheme of black, white, reds, and mint  — which I AM a fan of.

Your thoughts? Spill!

  1. I absolutely agree with you for the most part! Though I felt Taylor Swifts dress was slightly too old for her (she still seems like a 16 year old to me so maybe that’s why). And I would add Jessica Alba to that list.
    STUNNING. All of them.

  2. My favorites list was Kate Hudson, Jessica Alba (that COLOR!), Isla FIsher, and Michelle Dockery – Marion is a very very close second and I was pleasantly surprised with Nicole Kidman, who for once didn’t look like a hot mess. The bads were Lena Dunham, Lucy Liu, and Sienna Miller.

  3. I love all your picks….my favorite dress was the J. Mendel one….I love everything they do. I know Kate HUdson looks sooo good…she is teeny! ANd her dress is my second favorite. And I know everyone is going to hate Lucy Liu’s dress…..but I loved it…maybe not for the occasion but loved the print.

  4. I think Allison Williams would be drop dead gorgeous in anything! I also really really like Lucy Lui’s dress & braid, and though Jessica Alba turned it out too! Agreed – a fun night of television!

  5. I love your picks. I just do not like Taylor Swift’s style. I know she tried to go sexy but it still just bores me. Kerry Washington was my fave!!!!! xoox

  6. I loved Jessica Alba’s look- the hair, makeup and jewelry sealed the deal for me. And Kate Hudson looked amazing too, loved the McQueen. Great picks!

  7. I loved Kate Hudson and Allison Williams, those were 2 of my favorites. I’m not the biggest Taylor Swift fan, but I do have to say her dress looked spectacular and the color was stunning.

  8. Kate Hudson killed it! Loved Anne Hathaway in Chanel, Kerry Washington in Miu Miu and Julianne Moore in Tom Ford. I am not a fan of the leg slit up to hither and beyond.

  9. I love sweet Giuliana Rancic but the poor girl looked like a Victorian goth vampire. I loved loved Jessica Alba’s and I thought Jennifer Lawrence looked great in red. I also thought her speech was hilarious.

  10. I was surprised how much I enjoyed The Golden Globes this year … even my husband watched! Love Tina and Amy! And my pick – Amanda Seyfried – her white lace dress was perfection. Kate Hudson is a close runner up!
