LIVABLE LUXURY European Re-Classic

Let’s just call this Wanderlust Wednesday, because this Madrid remodel by designer Luis Puerta definitely has me lusting for a European staycay. It’s that classic example of a traditional space inserted with a mix of antiques and contemporary pieces (you know my passion for mixing in modern art!). Despite the downright luxurious materials — velvets, silks, cowhides — the space is surprisingly comfortable. The openness, simplicity of space, and abundance of light bestow a sense of informality, perfectly balanced by punctuations of stately accents…

I really do love the casual touches that keep it from feeling too museum-like!

Desiring an online space to explore well-rounded, inspired content in all topics she loves most, Erika created 'The E List' (formerly the Small Shop blog) in 2010. When not enjoying an “occasional" glass of wine and wanderlusting for even warmer climates, Erika can be found sharing laughs with friends and family, and trying her very best to keep up with her 6-year old daughter (yet failing miserably).

  1. “The openness, simplicity of space, and abundance of light bestow a sense of informality, perfectly balanced by punctuations of stately accents…” <– lovely sentence! It perfectly captures Puerta's design.
