BOOKMARKED: Recently Released, Completely Covetable

For your home or for someone special, these should be on everyone’s wish list…

I am obsessed with design books. They’re fab inspiration, and when strewn around the house or office, make fab accessories. Don’t you feel more fashionable when surrounded by all the greats? Like environmental osmosis or something. Here are some new and notable editions that would make a fantastic addition to anyone’s (ahem, my) collection:

Louis Vuitton || Gucci || Christian Louboutin
Martyn Lawrence-Bullard || Jan Showers || Celerie Kemble
Alexander McQueen || Vogue: The Covers || Carine Roitfeld*
Marisa Berenson || Hotel Il Pellicano || Halston

I’ve already picked up four of these, and put the others on my wish list.  Any books on your list this gift giving season?

Want more books? Check out an oldie but goodie on great design books, by color.

** And don’t forget to enter the small shop giveaway for a vintage Chanel ad! **

*If you’re not familiar with Carine Roitfeld, she’s the mastermind behind French Vogue, has worked with photographer Mario Testino, is credited for having launched Tom Ford’s career at Gucci, and has been called “the ideal French woman” by Karl Lagerfield. Definitely a brain I’d like to pick…

The Alexander McQueen book gives me heart palpitations. Also, think I’ll purchase the Jan Showers book just for the cover. Instant coffee table chic!

The cover of the Jan Showers book is so great! I have a bagillion design books on my wish list, which I’m always adding to in Amazon. I’m dying for the Tom Ford book (after you mentioned it on MBG), and there are also a couple illustration/history books discussing costume and fashion throughout the centuries that I think look really interesting. Hoping I either get them or a gift certificate so that they can all be mine.

Such good choices! The Carine Roitfeld is definitely on my list! I’m adding Halston now and as I saw the McQueen exhibit this summer (but didn’t want to carry the book) I need to put it back on my list also! Oh, and I forgot about Martha!

Celerie Kemble and Jan Showers! And, I’ll bet The Making of Gucci is fascinating. Let me know if, in your opinion (I trust), it is a worthy buy. I may just add that to my list as well!
