Carrie Bradshaw’s Apt. & Tobe Reed’s Gallery Wall

Guest posting on Because It’s Awesome today!

But first, I’ve been wanting to share a birthday gift I created for a friend – an easy D.I.Y. and such a great gift for any Sex and the City lover. I took about an hour to make the sketch, and the frame and matte were both off the shelf from Aaron Brothers. But, I know that it will be cherished in her home for years to come — nothing like a little original sketch by a friend of a fave location to spruce up any decor. I’m calling it “73rd between Park & Madison”…

Secondly, I thought this was a great tie-in to my guest post on Because It’s Awesome today! I could not adore Tobe more, and am so thrilled for her to have finally found her first home. I’m writing on “5 Rules of the Gallery Wall” — my thinking obviously being Tobe will have a lot of blank walls to fill up in her new pad! Go check out my tips and let us know what you think!

Hope you have a fun weekend planned — as in, lots of shopping and par-tays but of course.

How sweet! Love gifts that have two levels of meaning–to the casual observer, an architectural drawing. To those in the know, made by a friend, and of a significant location.

    Nice work!

Oh wow, will you be selling that print by any chance? I love it! I spent my single days in a townhouse on the UES (even though Carrie’s is actually in the West Village!)

first of all, who doesn’t love being referenced in the same post title as carrie bradshaw? HOLLA. second, “it took about an hour to sketch” is just mean of you to say to the rest of us. ha! and lastly, the pleasure is all mine. thank you for putting such a lovely (and quite useful) post together, and for your kind words. feeling’s mutual! ox

Ah you’re so right – I just meant “I know it’s not perfect but I didn’t spend a lot of time on it, so forgive me!” Probably what I should have said!
