👋 Who’s on Clubhouse?
It’s the newest shiniest app to hit your iPhone. Like a bunch of spontaneous Zoom audio calls/webinars with just your kind of people you haven’t met yet. A treasure trove of info and networking to be had! I just started listening in on a few rooms and heard some good tips via a HeyMama room I thought I’d share:
- You have to be invited in. Try signing up and if you’re lucky and they’re allowed, one of your contacts will let you in. (You only get one invite when you join but they release more invites the more you participate.)
- Once you’re in, create your bio. Be sure to connect your IG and Twitter accounts. Your bio should include: What you do, what problem you solve, your intention on Clubhouse, your street cred, and if you can, add a clear CTA with a link to your website (or a freebie or a way for people to get more info about you).
- Be sure your IG is ready for its closeup! Since there’s no DM feature on Clubhouse yet, people will need to DM you on IG (or Twitter). Don’t forget to check your DMs.
- Follow any people, categories, and clubs you would want to learn from. I’m following a bunch of founder and women in business clubs and learning a ton. Don’t worry about following more people than follow you back. This is a brand new platform and everyone is learning!
- Start entering rooms to listen in (don’t worry, you’re muted). If you like what you hear, stay. If you don’t, you can leave quietly. If you want to get on stage, you can raise your hand which puts you at the top of the screen (do worry, you have to mute yourself). You can also your followers to the room.
- Anyone can start a room. Find others on Clubhouse to create a room with. It’s going to feel like no one is there but from what I’ve heard, they will come!
- To start your own club, you need to schedule at least 1 meeting for 3 consecutive weeks. Once you apply, ask your CH contacts to email CH support with a request for your club to get you at the front of the queue.
