Women founders came together from around the world to volunteer and explore Marrakech, Morocco.
Having just returned from another successful Global Founder’s Retreat, I am humbled and amazed at the power we women hold when we come together with open hearts and minds. Every woman in this group came into the experience not knowing anyone, and left with a new group of supportive, empowered friends and collaborators.
Our host for the week-long retreat was once again Peacock Pavilions, a give back boutique hotel outside Marrakech and owned by humanitarian Maryam Montague and her husband Chris Redecke. Every fresh meal felt good for the soul; every nook beautifully designed by Maryam herself welcomed deep conversations and laughter into the late nights.
Our week took us to the Medina where we were led by our expert guide Hamsa through the winding pathways of the souk. What a gift to get to experience the artisans at work honing their crafts after generations before them. We traveled into the desert for camel rides at Scarabeo Desert Camp, guided by a bedouin dressed in desert blue. We wandered the gardens of Majorelle, Yves Saint Laurent’s home in Marrakech. And we ended our adventure with hammam spa treatments at Les Bains de Marrakech. What a week!
