Just returned from Art Basel Miami and had an incredible time!! Between running around to meetings and events, I didn’t have much of a chance to actually see you know, ART, but I was able to catch the Scope show on the beach. Here are some of the artists and pieces that stood out to me:
Joel Moens de Hase, “Beach” (photography) + detail
Yann Houri, “Untitled” (acrylic on wood)
Isabelle Scheltjens, “Feguro” (mosaic)
Mher Khachatryan, “Love” (paint)
Juan Miguel Palacios “Wounds” series (paint, pen, plexi, grey drywall)
Jorge Otero, “Sin titulo” (handwoven photography printed on leather)
Melissa Herrington ”Quilted in Pale Moon Glow” (paint)
Side note: a highlight for me at this event was bumping into one of the amazing people I met over the weekend and when I asked him how the previous night ended up for him, he replied, “It was the best night of my life.” I expected him to tell me about some party he attended, but instead he surprised me with, “Last night I fell in love.” Miami can be pretty magical like that!
