PREVIEW Kishani Perera for West Elm & Connect:Homes

Living Room concept by Kishani Perera, with pieces from West Elm and Rummage Home

Pre-Fab collab premieres at Dwell on Design LA this weekend

Can’t believe it’s already Friday! I will be knee-deep in matron-of-honor duties this weekend, which means I will miss the Dwell on Design show going on at the LA Convention Center today thru Sunday. Boo! But I did get sneak peek from designer Kishani Perera of her collaboration with West Elm for the interiors of a pre-fab house by Connect:Homes…

One of my favorite design tactics in interiors is to mix contemporary with eclectic (this is probably obvious!). So it comes as no surprise that I love Kishani’s take on how to infuse a livable softness into what one would expect to be a strictly minimalist environment. And especially when we’re talking pre-fab, it can seem cold and impersonal. But not this home!

My husband is taking a client to the show today, and I’ve asked him to take some photos for us! But if you’re in the LA area, definitely swing by the show as there will be tons of inspiration to be had (and a chance to meet Kishani!).

A contemporary home with an eclectic interior = basically, my dream home, wouldn’t you say?

Happy weekend, all! /

I agree with you….I love the ecclectic vibe….so much more interesting. I love all these vignettes….I especially love maps as art…because they are art. Ha! love the croquet set.

Definitely with you on the contemporary and the eclectic. When we were in Italy we visited a friend’s house, which was an incredibly old and wonderful building with lots of weathered brick. She complimented with lots of cool modern accessories and I just loved the contrast. I always feel like some sort of contrast is best. :)

I am obsessed with the new pre-fab homes – if I had an empty lot by a lake somewhere, that would be my dream vacay house!

LOVE West Elm. Their collaborations are awesome, always so well thought out and (the best part) affordable! My husband would love a pre-fab too. Something so exciting about it!

    Happy weekend to you, Erika!

Very cool. I like the concept. I’m not surprised at all that Kishani takes West Elm to a whole new level.
