THE E LIST The Final Photo Shoot

I’ve been prepping for a photo shoot for a magazine spread in a few weeks (eek!), but it’s somewhat bittersweet as it will be the last shoot in this house. We’ve been here for 6-1/2 years, and it’s time for a change (more space and closer to our friends/lives). As it’s the third shoot here, I’m working on changing up the look enough from the last two by switching out key accessories in each room…

MASTER BEDROOM
I’ve been wanting to add a large ornate mirror to our master bedroom ever since we installed the sputnik chandelier, to balance out all the masculine elements. But to keep it from going too frilly, I’m pairing it with a twisted horn lamp and a few glam accessories like this small white & gold clock, and skull trinket box.

LIVING ROOM
This deadline will force me to finally finish up my large abstract painting to put over the couch in our living room! I also just purchased Parisian Interiors as a pretty addition for the coffee table. And until I can afford a Serge Mouille, this very affordable black modern floor lamp will have to do.

DINING ROOM
Yep, time to switch out the David Hicks pillows in the dining room. I just about DIED when I found this DwellStudio black jungle print! (So me, right?) I got Arianna on it immediately.

KITCHEN
I’d been wanting this black Persian-like rug forever for the kitchen, and with a recent 25% off sale, it became irresistible.

OFFICE
I’ll have to change up my pinboard in my office, but now that the gallery wall is done, all I need is to add a few accessories, such as the “Now or Never” Smythson notebook I’ve been eyeing since Christmas, this acrylic and gold stapler, and a fun glass knot in black to top one of my design book stacks.

As with all rooms in my home, I try to follow my “5 pieces” rule:
something textured/patterned
something shiny
something modern
something organic/animal
something antique-y

We’ll see how I do!

I’m really going to miss our starter home, but of course I look forward to decorating a new one soon!

The mirror is beautiful! You always do a gorgeous job with your shoots – can’t wait to see what you do with this one. It’s exciting and sad that it’s the last however! At least you have tons of beautiful photos :-)
