ZOO PARTY // Birthday Weekend

My little girl is turning 3!

We are headed to the San Diego Zoo tomorrow to celebrate my daughter’s 3rd birthday! (We should also be celebrating the fact that this looks to be the first year since she was born that it’s not supposed to rain on her birthday. Hurrah!)

Oh Happy Day!

We tried the little party hats like above adorableness — but sadly our party animals are from a smaller jungle and the hats did not work out so well. Even though that part was a D.I.Y. fail, we got a good laugh when we wrapped mini scrunchies around their necks like party leis — totally worth it!

But we had such a blast making little goodie bags together for her pizza party at school. Such a fun, easy, mini D.I.Y. craft to do with my mini me.

The supplies:
I love using festive napkins to stuff small clear bags — a cheaper option than buying decorative bags at $2 a pop. (These were found at Target, along with the party plates. The rest, from Party City.)

Happy weekend!

Aw, absolutely adorable. Happy Birthday, Lei Lei (I just saw that Elizabeth wrote than, and I agree, I almost want kids now)

The first and last time I was at the San Diego zoo I was 7!! I still remember buying this plastic flamingo purse. I loved that purse.

Oh, and I love the idea of using cute napkins inside those baggies. It’d be fun to mix up the colors and patterns. Totally stealing your idea.

    Have a great weekend!

I just celebrated my friend’s daughter’s 3rd birthday with them two weeks ago and it was so special because she really understood this year what her birthday meant! Hope you have a wonderful time at the zoo, love all the thought you put into the styling of the party!

Heard the San Diego zoo is the best in the country. My friend in the Navy was stationed out there and I’m sad I never went while she lived there.

Anyway this idea is adorbs. I love the “party animal” theme. Going to link back to this on an upcoming post.
