Sharing bits of Hawaii in two places today!
It’s funny to be greeting you in such a way from the Big Apple, but I’m guest posting for two lovely ladies today and I chose my homeland Hawaii for both. Please check out:
“A Hawaiian-Inspired Bedroom” on The NOW Stylebook
Trying to get some of my yearning for Hawaii out of my system! (NOT working.)
“Details with small shop” on The House of Earnest
I’m sharing a few ways I’ve incorporated Hawaii into my home. You may be surprised?
And on this same topic, did you know that famed decorator Michael S. Smith did a house in Hawaii? I love the way he mixed just the right amount of tropical details with classic American pieces…
And really, this house could be anywhere, yah?
I’ll be back in CA tomorrow, but for now, enjoying my time in the city…
I have to admit. I am LOVING these spaces. So refreshing and so island. I hope you are enjoying Blogfest!! Lucky girl.
Ahh that house is gorgeous! I so want to go to Hawaii RIGHT now! Have fun in NYC and can’t wait to hear all about your trip!

I have been dreaming about Hawaii…I love the floor in that second pick. Not an easy look to pull off, but it looks fabulous. Hope you are still having a great trip .xo
Such a gorgeous home! And in Hawaii, perfect!
Hope you’re having fun!
Ohhhhh so pretty! I love city/location inspired decor! We’ve named each of our bedrooms with their themes. xoxo A-
you know I have never been to Hawaii (well once when I was in my mom’s belly) and I want to go so bad! They brought me back a placemat with my name in Hawaiian – Aleka Peka…hee hee
Miss you! Off to read your guest posts!

A turquoise floor? YES PLEASE!
I didn’t know you grew up in Hawaii! My grandmother lived in Waikiki when I was growing up and I got to spend a couple summers there when I was 8 and 9 (just a couple weeks each time). I’ve been lucky enough to go back twice as an adult to visit. There’s no place like it. So beautiful.
please, please tell me what the floor is made of? the turquoise floor?
