This weekend I tackled a D.I.Y. for my daughter’s room, and it was SO easy, I had to share!
I searched for the idea initially on Pinterest, but then I couldn’t find any curtain panels that went with her room decor. So I decided to make my own, using a pair of $10 sheers from IKEA, some pom-pom trim from the local fabric store and a hot glue gun, for a project that cost under $40 total…
I can’t get her out of it, so I call that a success!
(Excuse the blank walls — I took all the art down, and now that’s become a project for another day!)
Hope you had a productive weekend too!
And check out my instagram for more ideas…
Erika! This is the BEST DIY I have seen in a while. I am sure she is just over the moon to have something so whimsical and private. Love it. Need it. xo
LOOOOOVE it! Looks amazing, and it is so simple! Genius! ;)
Ahhh, love it! Its so sweet and the pom pom trim is the icing on the cake.
My 3.5 year old has the same focus when she’s on the iPad too ;)
Go you! This is awesome. Thanks for sharing. I might use this some day. I saw some that you can buy in Land of Nod or Pottery Barn Kids catalogs.
I want one for myself to hide in.

Amazing!! I love love love this. Growing up I had a mosquito netting tent, but this is so much cuter with that pop of pink!!
This is the cutest! I love pom-poms and always thinking of new ways I can incorporate them. Love how easy it is to just hot glue them as some trim.

Cutie cute cute! My 4 year old keeps saying she wants “curtains on her bed” and I have been resisting. But maybe….
So cute (and easy!)! A bed fit for a princess!
Love it! Now be honest: did you style L in those magenta leggings so she’d match the throw pillow? ;-)

Erika that is so fun! I adore that you did it yourself- so much more meaningful that way! Your daughter is so cute! My son (2 1/2) is addicted to his ipad- yikes!
Love this! My little girl is about to transition to her “big girl” room and this idea is perfect! Thanks for sharing:)
The canopy is just darling Erika! I bet that is something she will always remember fondly when talking about her childhood room.
This is so adorable. The pictures of Leighton make me smile. She’s such a little lady. That last picture is super cute with her legs peeking out. Great DIY!

Great job! I did a YouTube tutorial on this last year and its one of my most popular DIY’s… Keep it up!
Love this tutorial. I want to make one, but step four is not gettnig thru me. If i loop 3 ribbons thru tabs, only 2 openings are available, can you help me here?

Thank you so much for this amazing tutorial! I am making it for my daughter for Christmas :) Love it!
Since you are using two panels, what other spaces on the sides are open for ribbon to slip through besides the back?
