Saccharine sweet standout is pretty in pastel
I’ve been perusing the various blogs out there reporting on New York Fashion Week, and although I’ve been mainly harboring feelings of petty jealousy (those show-offs!), I did happen to catch one fleeting image from Shopbop’s blog that made it imperative that I know more, immediatamente. The Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti Fall 2011 show is blowing me away! Talk about the whole package: exquisite details, a fresh color palette, simple silhouettes, a mix of lush textures, and a knock-out presentation (model walks out in coat, walks back without to reveal the inner layer). Although I am just a graphic designer, I have to give them crazy love for their use of hue, pattern and composition! Take a look and see if you agree:
[ One of my favorite tonal pairings: lavender and lilac.]
[ Fuzzy fur and satin sheen? I die.]
[ That gradation between lace and plaid is a work of art.]
[ I gasp at the subtlety of the color and the delicateness of that cotton.]
[ Matte/Shiny. Soft/Textured. Simple/Complex.]
[ Fluffy girly goodness reveals sleek mod sheath.]
[ Don’t you just want to touch these? I mean, really! ]
I know you may be thinking, “Wait, this is for Fall?” but just think how much this collection stands out from the burnt-oranges-and-burgundies-with-tweeds-and-camel that everyone else is doing. Genius move, I say!
Seen any other inspired collections that you’re loving?

Oh these are gorge! Who cares if they’re springish if they are so pretty and fun to look at!
Have you seen what they’re doing at Anthropologie’s BHLDN? I’ve also seen alot on Rag & Bone which looks cool but not as much my thing.

That’s right, I need to forward that site to my recently engaged sis-in-law! Thanks for the tip. I’ll have to check out Rag & Bone as well. Thx!!
