Yes, but which will I make mine??
Daily life is full of tough choices. Like should I go with wavy or straight hair today, which coffee or tea drink will properly rev my creative engines for the afternoon, which DVR show should I watch during my precious hour of free time this evening? So you can imagine my fluster when I spotted artist Cate Parr’s fashion watercolor illustrations on designer Molly Luetkemeyer’s blog, mollyloot.com yesterday. Instantly impressed with her Etsy store Silver Ridge Studio is putting it mildly — I knew I had to share these gems with my readers immediately! My only hesitation is that I haven’t decided which one (or two) I want for myself…
“Vogue Paris Ink 1” original, $125
“Viola” print, $35
“Vogue Turkey” print, $100
“Pink Parasol” original, $135
“Vogue Paris Ink 3” original, $125
“Indian Bride 2” (Kate Moss) print, $35
“Belle 3” print, $35
“Lupe Velez” original, $165
“Model Ink 4” print, $75
“Summer Dress” original, $150
“Yves Saint Laurent” print, $35
“Paris Vogue” original, $150
“Brigitte Bardot” original, $200
All kidding aside, I am truly digging Ms. Parr’s style: sexy, sophisticated, carefree AND colorful?! Four of my favorite adjectives. And she’s painted quite a few stylish celebrities, spanning the decades from Audrey Hepburn to Gisele. Gotta love that Brigitte Bardot!
You can pick up both original works and prints in her store now. She also mentioned to me that she’ll very soon be selling larger paintings!
So big question of the day: thinking about adding one to my office gallery wall (replacing the cheap calendar Vogue illustrations) — thoughts??

Oh, I LOVE these–thanks for sharing! I used to have some vintage 20s Vogue cover prints hanging. I bought them in Paris at one of those vendors along the Seine and loved them. These feel like such a modern take on that. If my daughters were just a little older, these would be awesome for their room.

Big fan of “Indian Bride” and “Brigitte Bardot,” though I think I’d definitely splurge for an original over a print.
