BOOK PARTY Vintage Remix

I’m over on La Dolce Vita today at 9:30am PDT** giving a recap of Kishani Perera’s Vintage Remix book party Wednesday night — check it out!

Had a great time meeting a bunch of designers and bloggers only known to me previously through twitter. Plus, (did you see on Instagram?) I got to meet Gary Oldman…Gary friggin’ Oldman (he is a client/friend of Kishani’s and wrote the foreword in her book). I was so stunned I don’t remember anything I said, which is probably a good thing. I am not usually so star struck — in fact, my husband was laughing at me — but come on, it’s Gary Oldman.

Do you ever wonder if celebs actually want you to converse with them, rather than gush AT them? You kinda feel like you just used them for a photo or an autograph. Sorry Mr. Oldman.

Back on topic, Kishani’s book is AMAZING! Sometimes you feel like if you’ve seen one design book, you’ve seen them all. And I’m not gonna lie, there have been a few recently where I found myself disappointed. But Vintage Remix is so so good. A must-have for anyone that has my same taste, i.e. eclectic, lived-in, chic, sophisticated, vintage…real!

…it’s coming back to me now, I think I called him a legend…

But he is!

**Until then, don’t miss the live streaming StyleMint event happening today at 9am PDT/12pm PDT! Olsen…Zoe…WhoWhatWear. I’m just saying. Watch it here.

Oh my goodness, you are so cute! I definitely try to restrain myself when anyone remotely famous is around because I am just like Jess from new girl – lots of awkward haha!

First, what a disconnect – Gary Oldman/design – who knew? But how awesome. He is definitely someone to get starstruck around, congrats!

Ha ha! My first job out of college was working at the front desk at a luxury hotel. Almost every celebrity who visited Saint Louis stayed there so I met TONS, never too impressed. However when I shook hands with Priscilla Presley at the Peabody Hotel in Memphis, I almost passed out! Ya never know…

I SO wanna get my hands on that book….it looks amaze.

    Happy Friday!

oh, I am so jealous! I see tons of celebs here in New Orleans and I never speak to them. I just feel like it has to be so annoying! But one time I told Gena Rowlands (older woman in The Notebook) that I couldn’t help myself, I just had to tell her how beautiful and amazing she is, and she said, “honey, no one ever gets tired of hearing that!” So I am sure he loved you gushing :)

I’m so obnoxious when I see a celebrity. Pretty much everyone in my address book gets a text, but I’m way too shy to say anything directly to them. I’ve sat next to celebs like Bill Murry, Dustin Hoffman, Marissa Tomei and Stanley Tucci at restaurants and didn’t utter a word. I just like to stare at them!

Hilarious! I sat next to Leonard Nimoy on a 5 hour flight from NYC to LA and couldn’t think of anything worthwhile to say to him that he probably hasn’t already heard. Still can’t think of anything…

He so is! And what a gorgeous picture. Is it by your nightstand now? I would like to think I don’t get starstruck either, but I turn into a complete idiot under these circumstances- every time. Lovely little trait.
I cannot wait to get this book, it looks like it was made just for me!
