WANDERLUST // Hot New Hotels

…International It List…

Confession: I haven’t been on a plane since September 2010. We “grounded” ourselves last year, planning ahead for family-obligated travel this year, and hopefully a return trip to Italy next year. For someone that used to fly every few months, I am experiencing major withdrawals…the kind that quick jaunts to Napa and Palm Springs don’t fix. So I ask you, are these new hot spots helping or hurting?

Grand Hotel Villa Cora, Florence

Areias de Seixo, Portugal

Mancora Marina, Peru

Le Royal Mansour, Marrakech

Hotel Thoumieux, Paris

Cap Rocat, Majorca, Spain

Armani Hotel, Dubai

Babylonstoren, South Africa

Soho House, Berlin

Hotel Fasano Las Piedras, Punta del Este, Uruguay

Banyan Tree, Al Wadi, UAE

Where are you itching to go?

I typically prefer to go somewhere with history or nature (although I am not much of a roughin-it kind of gal). But give me a cocktail and a view, and I’m a happy girl.

that Peruvian hotel is too much – how gorgeous!!!!!! I also love the quaintness of the South African hotel. My boyfriend and I went to London and Lisbon last summer, so I think this year we’re going to keep it domestic, but we really hope to get back to our favorite, Florence, next year.

Gorgeous! I don’t know, but I’ve been seeing so many many people posting about Paris lately that I’ve got it on the brain.

I agree I love a little history and a little nature. My husband and I went on an amazing trip to London and Wales last year. We liked London, but we LOVED Wales. I recommend a little town called Conwy with a fun little boutique hotel. I think called the Castle Hotel – the food was fabulous and the town has a castle! Hadrian’s Wall was also wonderful.

How about one of each? ;) I’m still kicking myself for never making it to Morocco when I studied abroad in Europe. Though South Africa is looking mighty fine… #oneday

I am dying to go to Babylonstoren – the interiors have been inspiring me for a year. And of course anywhere I can use my Spanish. Off to the Dominican Republic in two weeks but that is a quick family trip. I would love to go to Spain or Ireland/Scotland as a long exploration… you are making me daydream!

I would die to go to any of these, immediately! Personally, Croatia is #1 on my list right now… but I’d take anything – just somewhere warm and sunny!!!

Oh we had the most lovely conversation about you last night! I met the sweet Tamra for dinner :) We are just big fans of you and your style! As for vaca, I’m itching to go ANYWHERE! My mr. and I lived apart for a year so I could start-up society social and with start-up costs and being unemployed for a year before, we haven’t been able to afford it. It would be so wonderful to get away just the two of us. Hopefully soon, but I need to sell more bar carts ;)

As soon as we got back I jokingly said, Okay, where are we going next? This was supposed to be our last big trip because we should probably focus on having kids now. It’s gonna be tough adjusting to not vacationing to far away places.

See, these photos already have me itching for more travel. I feel your bug.

Oh Erica, you’re killing me! These are SO good. I’ve been on travel restriction as well and it sucks, especially when my hubby is going fabulous places without me. Time to plan something…I need some travel to look forward to!

I haven’t been on a plane since summer of 2009 when I went to ATL. But I’ve been on vacays since but they were road trips. I go to chicago all the time because that’s a sister city to Milwaukee (only 1.5 hrs away) but I’m really looking forward to going to Indianapolis for my cousin’s dance competition. I never been there before and have heard nothing but good things. I also plan on going to Miami, another place I never been. (been to Orlando & tampa but not Miami. I know, shocking). I want to go there for my 30th. I refuse to turn another decade in this city. I may end up doing a cruise and leaving from Miami though. Still debating.

Oh my, Erika, these places all look divine! I get the travel bug every few months, it’s pretty bad. I typically devote my money to travels before clothes or interiors, but still- I need to reign it in. I would love to visit all these places! :)

Thank you for passing by recently Erika, I really appreciate it! Hugs,

The Mancora Marina in Peru is to die for! I’m making my family stay there next time we go. I can’t believe none of my family in Peru recommended making the treck and splurging to stay here last time we were there. I’ve been scouring the website and this place is STUNNING, their infinity pool is so major!

OH MY!!! I hear you…I am having major wanderlust… My last flight was to NYC, which was fabulous of course! But I am longing for a trip abroad (my last trip was Europe July 2010)… Portugal has been at the top of my mind and I am now dreaming of staying at Areias de Seizo…so divine! XO brynn

I don’t know if it’s hurting or helping but it sure is all kinds of pretty! Loved the South Africa and UAE hotels but really, I’m probably itching for southern Europe destinations! Greece, Croatia, Italy or I wouldn’t mind doing Spain and South of France again :)

You really make it seem really easy with your presentation but I find this matter to be really something that I think I’d never understand. It sort of feels too complicated and extremely large for me. I am looking forward to your subsequent post, I will attempt to get the cling of it!
