This probably doesn’t deserve to be called a “D.I.Y.” in the traditional sense, but I thought it was such a cute idea and anyone can do it! A friend recently told me about her “smile file” — a collection of notes, cards, photographs and bits of memorabilia that you can reference every once in a while when you need a little pick-me-up…
Maybe I’m a sucker for the handwritten note because I have always kept them, but kept them tucked away. How fun to pull them out and place them in a special bowl like this one from my grandmother’s vintage gold-rimmed china set. Now all of these nice thoughts I’ve collected through the years can be out in the open and filling the air with positive vibes.
Do you have a “smile file” too? If not, I hope you’ll try it!
Happy Monday!

This is such a great idea. I’ve been going through a lot this past week with my personal life, and this is exactly what I think I need to do for myself. Thanks for sharing!

My parents are such sentimentalists, they’d love this idea. I’m trying not to keep as many notes and cards, but i like the idea of keeping a small bowl-worthy set.

What a cute idea! I do have mine stashed and saved in a box in my closet… but that definitely is a pick me up and a fun thing to display, esp like you’ve done. I wanna try it for sure!

I have a shoe box filled with handwritten notes from my childhood girl friends that I’ve moved around the world with me. I love going through them whenever I’m having a crappy day. It’s so funny to read all the silly notes we used to write each other (most of them are from middle and high school!) x
